If you want to get reluctant learners interested in ancient history, I recommend you start with the mummification techniques of the ancient Egyptians. Once you starting talking about the hook-through-the-nose-to-scrape-out-the-brains and the keeping-the-gutty-works-in-canopic jars stuff, they’ll be screaming “MOAR HISTORY!”
